Missions

Each class has been challenged to choose a mission project for their class. Ideas for mission’s projects include working with the Northwest Hills Baptist Church food bank, Samaritan’s Purse, Shoe box ministries, visiting nursing homes, supporting a missionary and many other causes.

In September, Phillip & Kim Gammmill and their 18 year old son Daniel spoke to students in chapel and described to students their fascinating work with Indians in Mexico for the last 28 years. Students enjoyed hearing about their work as God is using them to boldly share their faith. They are currently living in New Mexico starting a new ministry working with the Navajo Nation. So far, two of our classes have adopted their ministry as their mission project by saving their loose change. You can help this ministry by saving your change to share with this ministry as well. Bring your change to the office and we will make sure it goes to the “Pennies for Heaven” jars.

In October, we partnered with Northwest Hills Baptist Church to collect “Shoeboxes for Franklin Graham’s Operation Christmas Child.” Students were encouraged to pack a Christmas box for children in war torn countries, particularly Georgia.

In November, we collected money for the Northwest Hills Baptist Church Foodbank by purchasing Flip-Flop Passes and Wear Your Choice Shirt Day Passes. We collected $361.00 to give to the food bank. A donation of $250.00 covers the cost of one moving truck load of food to send to a needy community!

In December, students will be allowed to purchase “Christmas Attire Passes” for Fridays. For $1 each week, students may wear Christmas sweaters, Christmas sweatshirts, Christmas shirts, Christmas socks, and Christmas hats! Proceeds will benefit missionaries, Phillip, Kim and Daniel Gammill, with their work with the Navajo Nation in New Mexico.  Money collected will be used to purchase Bibles to give to the Native Americans as the Gammills share the Gospel in this area.

In January, the Food Bank truck was here for our donations from money collected in  November .

Email from the Gammills

Just wanted to ask you to relay the message of thanks from the three of us to your school children how much we appreciate their pennies. It is both humbling and so awesome that little ones would be driven for the gospel. What a lesson we can learn from the young. We have been asked to stay off of the reservation till the snow has melted some. They have had to fly helicopters and rescue teams in to help people because of the snow. We are finally getting a few days of sun and we will be driving out to Three Turkeys and visiting our new converts soon. Thank you and your children for praying for us. Have a fabulous day and Lord Jesus bless you all.

Remember kids that we are all soldiers in God’s army. Get strong and be courageous. There is much for us to do for the kingdom of God.
